Daltonganj, Feb 21: Three unidentified people, on Tuesday, torched a mixture plant at a construction site of the road under the Manika police station in the Latehar district.

Assistant Superintendent of Police cum Sub-divisional police officer Sadar Palamu Rishabha Garg said three arsonists came on a bike and set fire to the mixture machine that produces ready-mixed concrete used for road construction.

A multi-crore road is being built between Tumbagara and Kaer. Notably, Kaer is located in the north division of the Palamu Tiger Reserve.

Garg further said that police have not found any leaflets left by the Naxal outfit after the arson attack.

Naxals, while committing arson, leave behind a leaflet warning contractors not to work without due permission.

On being asked if the construction agency has received any threat call for levy, Garg said it is being investigated.

Police officials from Manika of Latehar district and Satbarwa of Palamu district are jointly investigating the arson case.
