Ranchi, March 3: The JMM welcomed the budget terming it ‘holistic’.
Party general secretary Supriyo Bhattacharya shared the same, organizing a press conference at his party office saying that an attempt has been made in the budget to compensate for the loss of two years in the education sector.
He said apart from focusing on the development of medical infrastructure taking lessons from the corona pandemic, due attention has been given to the rural economy, which is the backbone of the state economy.
Bhattacharya said the proper focus has been given to the tourism sector in the tourism virgin state and an attempt has been made to show the dawn of development after two years of crisis due to pandemic.
The JMM general secretary Bhattacharya said after being the first state in the country to send tribal students for foreign education at the state’s cost, the state has taken a step forward to send SC and BC students also for getting an education in foreign countries.
He said that the budget reflected the commitment of the state government to remove finance hurdles before higher education and has introduced Guruji Siksha Credit Card for all students cutting across caste, creed and religion.
Highlighting other aspects of the budget Bhattacharya said that the budget reflects the intention of the state government to enhance knowledge of children in the state as it has provided funds for the development of two planetariums in Ranchi and Dumka besides libraries, science city, clubs in each block and converting Panchayat Bhawan into Gyan Bhawan.
Apart from this, he said, for the development of a healthy mind and body the government has provided funds for the distribution of dal and eggs besides warm clothes to children to beat the chilling cold.
Lauding the intention of the state government to give better dwelling units to people in the state, he said adding Rs 50000 extra in PM Awas Yojna the state government has planned to give 3BHK houses instead of 2BHK houses.
Replying to a query on having no provision for unemployment allowance, he said ‘now employment is in focus and all will get employment and steps have already been taken by the state government.
JMM criticises Ranchi MLA C.P.Singh
During the press conference, Bhattacharya condemned BJP senior leader and Ranchi MP C.P.Singh for disturbing the house during the budget session saying it is not easy to tolerate such unruly behavior of a senior leader who also held the post of state minister and speaker.
