Jharkhand cabinet nod to commission on OBC quota in civic bodies; 3960 posts for upgraded schools

Ranchi, June 27: The Jharkhand cabinet today approved an urban development department’s proposal to constitute a dedicated commission on reservation to backward classes in the civic body.

With the approval of the commission, path has been paved for the civic body election which is due since April 28 in this state on the issue of BC reservation.

Cabinet co-ordination secretary Vandana Dadel informed the media after the cabinet meeting. She also informed about other 42 other proposals the cabinet approved.

The important proposals approved included Rs 25.02 crore for a degree college in Gola in Ramgarh district under Vinoba Bhave University (VBU), Arogyam Vishwavidyalaya Bill draft, extension of period for implementation of Sahid Gram Vikas Yojna till 2025-26.

Other proposals approved included Rs 307.44 crore for establishment of 300-bed hospital on PPP mode at Mahagama, increase in stamp charge to Rs 30 from Rs 15 levied under Advocate Welfare Act, sanctioning of 1890 teaching posts and 2079 non-teaching posts for upgraded schools across the state, Rs one lakh to each of 6890 Anganwadi Centres for upgradation and Rs 75 crore of upgradation of Ayush Centres.

Among the other proposals approved included a smart phone worth upto Rs 8000 to each of the Poshan Sakhi, establishment of 27 police and 17 traffic outposts during Shravani mela from July 2 to July 29, inclusion of four teachers’ training colleges of school education and literacy department in higher education and technical department, increment in honorarium of JHALSA trainer, 2.75 acre for Apollo Hospital at Namkum, Rs 6.87 crore for Deoghar Sadar Hospital in the wake of Shravni Mela preparation and Rs 2 crore for the expense incurred in shifting of Jharkhand High Court from old building to new building.

Other proposals approved included review of pension of judicial officers, night shift duty for women in factories, Rs 53.44 crore for CUJ approach road construction besides construction of road in Latehar, Jamtara and printing order to Indian Security Press, Nashik, on nomination basis for printing of hologram for excise and prohibition department.
