Ranchi, Sept 29: Jharkhand cabinet on Thursday approved Rs 159 crore for building three 100-bed critical care health block hospitals in Lohardaga, Seraikela-Kharsawan and Khunti districts by 2023-24.
“The cabinet approved Rs 52.86 crore each to construct the three critical care hospitals under the centrally sponsored scheme PM Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission,” Cabinet Secretary Vandana Dadel said.
The cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Hemant Soren, also sanctioned Rs 70.41 crore and okayed RFQ and RFP for setting up an Inter State Bus Terminal (ISBT) and WRD office-cum-commercial facilities in Jamshedpur.
To help pay off the dues on Jharkhand Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited (JBVNL), the cabinet sanctioned raising a loan of Rs 2,632.80 crore through open market borrowing and providing it to the state power distribution company.
The cabinet sanctioned leasing out 20.46 acres of land in the resettlement area in Bokaro district for setting up a Technology Centre to the central government’s MSME department on a 30-year renewable lease.
The Jharkhand State Mineral Development Corporation Ltd (JSMDC) has been awarded an extension of three years for managing the class two sand mines in the state. The earlier agreement lapsed on 16 August 2022.
Three road projects got the cabinet’s nod. A 7.3 km long road on Dumka bypass will be widened and strengthened at a cost of Rs 76.45 crore. On Ranchi-Purulia road near Namkum, a 17 km road project has been sanctioned Rs 181.74 crore. For another road project in Ranchi, 3.75 km Bariatu lane, Rs 111.35 crore has been granted.
The cabinet has further sanctioned Rs 33 crore for building 256 affordable houses for leprosy patients in Nagri block in Ranchi. It also granted pension facilities to teachers of 180 madrassas and 11 Sanskrit schools.
The proposal to form a Jharkhand Flying Institute committee under the Civil Aviation Secretary has been approved. It will oversee all ongoing and future training programs like commercial pilot, gliding and aero-modeling.
The cabinet approved awarding two patches of land on 30-year lease each with renewal options to Rungta Mines in Seraikela-Kharsawan district. A 13.43 acre land in Rajnagar circle for about Rs 4 crore and another area of 15.24 acre for Rs 4.53 crore.
Among other decisions, the health department has been granted to hire 44 vehicles (34 Bolero and 10 buses) for use by civil surgeons, and principals and superintendents of medical colleges and hospitals, Dadel said.
