Ranchi, Sept.15: Chief Minister Hemant Soren presiding at a high-level meeting of Niti Aayog stressed the need of formulating policy according to the problem and requirements of the state.
He discussed issues related to coal, power, railway revenue, water resource, mineral, rural development, civil aviation, tribal affairs, road transport and national highways. He focused on better coordination between the state and the centre for development and demanded a policy for the betterment of scheduled castes and scheduled tribes.
The meeting was virtual in which an eight-member team of Niti Aayog led by V.K.Paul talked in Ranchi with senior officers of the Union government in virtual mode to remove the hurdle coming in the path of development.
Chief Minister Soren said that states have limited resources but have several challenges. He demanded mineral-based industries in the state and socio-economic educational surveys in mining areas to ensure people residing in mining areas get the benefit of government welfare schemes.
A member of Niti Aayog said proposals and issues related to 22 departments were discussed in the meeting and positive responses from the union government also came,
Those from the state who remained present during the meeting included finance minister Rameshwar Oraon besides chief secretary Sukhdev Singh, development commissioner Arun Kumar Singh, principal secretary of CM Rajeev Arun Ekka among others.
