Ranchi, Aug 22: Chief Minister Hemant Soren today handed over appointment letter to as many as 217 AYUSH doctors. AYUSH is abbreviation of Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy.
All the appointments are contractual. Chief Minister Soren assured Rs 15,000 per month as incentive besides salary for good performers.
Chief Minister said he has also planned to start education in this area.
A MoU was also signed between Jharkhand government and Shri Satya Sai Heath Hospital on the occasion. Under the MoU, children and adults of Jharkhand will be able to get free heart-related treatment for heart-related ailments at Rajkot and Ahmedabad-based Shri Sathya Sai Heart Hospital.
Health Minister Banna Gupta said that appointment of AYUSH doctors will help remove the shortage of human resource. Talking about the importance of AYUSH doctors, he said AYUSH medicines help prevent diseases.
Explaining the difference between allopathy and AYUSH, he said that AYUSH is such a method that does not allow disease to occur and stops the disease before it.
On the occasion health minister Banna Gupta said the government is also intending to increase the honorarium of Sahiya. He said that the best performing Sahiya would be given medals according to their grades. He said that whenever he gets opportunity to talk to the Union Health Minister, he demands increment in honorarium of Sahiya.
