Ranchi, June 19: Jharkhand got the gift of the state government’s dream project- Panchayat level medicine shop scheme from Chatra district as Chief Minister (CM) Hemant Soren today inaugurated this scheme by handing over the licenses to the educated youth of rural areas to operate medicine shops in panchayats.
The CM said that now medicine shops will be opened in every village and one can avail essential and compulsory medicines from there without taking pain of running to block and district headquarters for the same in the case of requirement.
He said efforts are on to give a better and responsible system to the state so that the vision and schemes of the government can reach the remote rural areas. “Your problems were solved through the program ‘Government at your doorstep’. This type of scheme will be started again, so that the government’s association with the public remains intact,” he added.
The CM said his government is not sitting in an air-conditioned room, but is working in the field in winter, summer and rainy season, so that it can understand the people’s problems. Not only this, he said, schemes are being implemented on the ground. He said that all the senior officers have been instructed to visit and get information about the ground reality of the schemes.
He said the country will be strong only when the state is strong and the state will be strong only when the rural economy becomes strong. Keeping this in mind, he said, his government is making schemes.
The CM said on the 15th and 16th of this month, he had a long discussion with the senior officers of the state and the DCs and SPs of all the districts regarding development and law and order. The officers, he said, have been clearly instructed to implement the schemes of the government and reach out to the public and take all appropriate steps to strengthen the law-and-order situation.
“The interest of the public is the topmost priority of the government,” the CM asserted.
He said that the process of land acquisition is underway for several important projects but he is getting some complaints from the villagers in this regard. “I want to assure those affected by land acquisition that no injustice will be done to them. They will get their rights and entitlements in any situation. The government is very sensitive about this,” he clarified.
On the occasion, the CM laid the foundation stone of 177 schemes costing Rs 3 billion 64 crore 34 lakh 68 thousand 925, while inaugurated 42 schemes worth Rs 14 crore 6 lakh 741.
