SUMAN K SHRIVASTAVA
Ranchi, Aug. 14: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren today skipped the summons issued by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
According to sources, Soren, in his letter to the ED, has cited his preoccupation with the pre-Independence Day celebrations. He has also cited a series of review meetings next week and the byelections in Dumri assembly constituency scheduled on September 5 as other reasons for not attending the ED summons.
The ED had asked him to appear before it on August 14 for questioning in a land scam case.
Notably, the ED has already arrested former Ranchi DC Chhavi Ranjan, two businessman Amit Agarwal and Bishnu Agarwal and power broker Prem Prakash among other revenue officials and land brokers in the multi-crore land scam case.
