Jamshedpur, Oct 14: A cyclonic circulation over the central Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood extending up to 3.1 Km above mean sea level would trigger light to moderate thundershowers in a few places over Jharkhand today.
Today’s satellite pictures suggested patches of clouds over several districts.
Weathermen said conditions are very likely to become favourable for the withdrawal of southwest monsoon from some more parts of northwest and central India during the next 2-3 days.
It is likely to further withdraw from the remaining parts of Gujarat, some parts of Maharashtra and some parts of East India during the subsequent two days.
A Western Disturbance is a trough in mid and upper tropospheric westerlies with its axis at 5.8 km above mean sea level lying roughly along 76°E to the north of 30°N.
Ranchi and its adjoining areas would witness a partly cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain today.
Rain statistics suggested that Jharkhand as a whole has received surplus rain of 73 per cent so far in October this year.
