Jharkhand: Gangster Akhilesh Singh’s henchman arrested in Kanpur

Jamshedpur, Feb 28: Gangster Akhilesh Singh’s henchman Kanhaiya Singh was arrested by a joint team of police officials from Uttar Pradesh and Jamshedpur on Monday night.

Kanhaiya Singh was arrested at Kanpur railway station at around 9 pm while he was waiting for a train along with his wife and children. The police team from Jamshedpur is presently arranging for the arrested criminal’s transit remand to steel city.

A resident of Bagbera, Kanhaiya Singh was wanted in connection with several cases including firing and extortion. He used to extortion from businessmen and traders on behalf of the gangster Akhilesh Singh who is presently lodged in the Dumka Central Jail.

Police had earlier arrested Kanhaiya Singh’s nephew Amit Singh along with another person. During the interrogation and scanning of Amit’s smartphone, the police could know about the details of Kanhaiya Singh’s ticket reservation and his travel plan. Then only the police planned with the Uttar Pradesh police to nab him at the Kanpur railway station itself.
