Ranchi, Aug 18: Jharkhand is geared up to host the prestigious National Burn Academy Conference (NBAC) 2024.
In this regard, a meeting of the Jharkhand Plastic Surgeons Association (JPSA) was held on Thursday evening at RPS Hospital (Bariatu Nursing Home, Ranchi), under the chairmanship of Dr Arvind Prakash of Medanta Hospital and a detailed programme was discussed to make the conference productive.
Dr Anant Sinha, who is the national president of the National Academy of Burns India (NABI), after the meeting said that the conference would be organized at the Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) stadium. “We today discussed in detail, the arrangements and programme of the forthcoming conference,” said Dr Sinha.
The expert plastic surgeons of Ranchi said the conference would provide a platform as well as an opportunity for its members and non-members of state to share experience, exchange knowledge, know basics and discuss the recent advancement in all prospects of burn injuries.
At the meeting, office bearers, members of the Jharkhand Plastic Surgeons Association also discussed recent developments in plastic surgery facilities in Jharkhand and shared information about recent global advancements in the super speciality.
Dr Arvind Prakash, Dr Pankaj, Dr Vikrant, Dr RK Pathak, Dr Tanmay, Dr Prince Gupta shed light on the advancement facility of plastic surgery in Jharkhand and stressed on holding CME and other programmes.
Dr Ajay Kumar Singh, the patron of the association gave a vote of thanks for the presence of plastic surgeons and said that plastic surgery is no five-star surgery. It covers hand surgery injury to birth defects, microsurgery, reconstructive and trauma mainly road traffic accidents that cause acute deformities.
Besides it, the plastic surgery also repairs cancer defects, rhinoplasty, burns and body contour surgery. Cosmetic surgery is a small wing of this.
“ There are plenty of qualified, experienced plastic surgeons in the state, especially in Jamshedpur, Dhanbad, Bokaro after Ranchi who are at par with their counterparts of other states,” said Dr Ajay Kumar Singh.
