Ranchi, Oct.29: The Jharkhand government today withdrew Sunday lockdown and allowed Chhath celebration with strict adherence to Covid-19 protocol.

The decision was taken in a meeting of the State disaster management authority under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Hemant Soren.

Health Minister Banna Gupta, who was present in the meeting, informed the media saying all shops will remain open as usual. However, he said, following covid protocol, using a mask, and maintaining physical distance will be compulsory.

The meet also allowed 50 percent occupancy in JSCA stadium during the India-New Zealand match on November 19 and allowed the opening of the Anganwadi centres.

The meet did not allow organising demonstration or procession.
