Dhanbad, Aug 10: Jharkhand Governor Ramesh Bais will be the chief guest in the 41st Convocation of IIT Indian School of Mines (ISM) Dhanbad which is to be held in Penman Auditorium on August 13.
Rajni Singh, dean (media and branding) of IIT ISM, today said that the Governor of Jharkhand will deliver the convocation address to the graduating batch of 2020 on the first day while on the second day (August 14), Dr Debashish Bhattacharjee, vice-president of Tata Steel Technology and new material business will grace the occasion as chief guest.
“This year, degrees will be conferred on 3637 scholars and students of 2019-20 and 2020-21 batches,” she said
Prof Prem Vrat, Chairman, Board of Governors, IIT (ISM) Dhanbad will preside over the function. Prof Rajiv Shekhar, Director, IIT (ISM) will present a report on the activities of the Institute.
Dean Rajni Singh said on the first day of the convocation, a total of 1978 degrees will be awarded while on the second day, 1659 degrees will be conferred.
- Himanshu Bhushan Sandhibigrah (B. Tech, Electrical Engineering) will be awarded the President’s Gold Medal for the 2019-20 batch, while Ajit Kumar (B. Tech, Computer Science & Engineering) will receive the President’s Gold Medal for 2020-21 batch during the function.
- Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) award would be given to 420 students while 14 students of 2019-20 batch will get a bachelor of engineering (BE) degree). 790 students of 2019-20 sessions and 788 of 2020-21 batch will be given the B.Tech degree.
- 34 students of 2019-20 sessions and 20 students of 2020-21 batch will get 5 Year Dual Degree. 56 students of 2019-20 and 62 students of 2020-21 batch will get a Master of Technology (under 5 years integrated programme) degree.
- Master of science and technology degree (3 years) would be given to 106 students of 2019-20 batch and 83 students of 2020-21 batch.
- 107 students of the 2019 batch and 119 of the 2021 session will be given a Master of Science degree. Master of Technology (2 Years) degree will be given to 493 students of the 2019 -20 batch and 280 students of the 2020-21 session.
- Master of Technology (3 Years) will be given to 143 students of the 2019 batch and 20 students of the 2021 session.
- Master of Business Administration (2 Years) degree will be given to 43 students of the 2019 batch and 19 students 2021 session.
- Master of Business Administration (3 Years) degree will be given to 22 students of the 2019 batch and 18 students 2021 batch.
