Ranchi, March 28: Jharkhand Governor C.P Radhakrishnan today stressed upon the need of preparing database of ex-servicemen mentioning needs of their family members.
He was presiding over a meeting of the Sainik Welfare Board managing committee at Raj Bhawan. Other than state Chief Secretary Sukhdev Singh, principal secretary to Governor Nitin Kulkarni, finance secretary Ajay Singh, home secretary Vandana Dadel and officials of the Sainik Welfare Board were present in the meeting.
The meeting was organized after a gap of two and half years. The Governor expressed his concern over the delay saying there should be a meeting of the managing committee after every six months.
Describing ex-servicemen as equal to God, he stressed upon the need of making efforts to ensure that their dependents do not face any kind of difficulty.
During the meeting discussion took place on providing an annual grant amount for the Sainik Welfare Board every year by the state government. Along with this, discussion on giving horizontal reservation in the state government jobs to ex-servicemen also took place.
It was decided that services of a consultant would be obtained for the beautification and development of the Sainik Market complex located on Mahatma Gandhi Marg.
