Ranchi, Sept.24: Jharkhand High Court advocate Rajiv Kumar will have to wait longer for his bail as the ED special court deferred hearing in his bail plea till September 29.
The court deferred the hearing after a special public prosecutor appearing on behalf of ED, Shiv Kumar Kaka, sought time to file an affidavit in the bail petition.
Kumar was arrested in Kolkata on July 31. The action was taken after a businessman named Amit Agarwal alleged that Kumar in the name of providing relief in public interest litigation filed against him in the Jharkhand High Court, demanded Rs one crore after proper negotiation.
Police from Hair Street Police station arrested Kumar with Rs 50 lakh cash.
