Ranchi, June 14: K Srinivasan, a 2005 batch Jharkhand cadre IAS officer, today got a piece of mind from Jharkhand High Court judge Justice Rajesh Shanker after he cited his inability to understand the high court order properly as the reason for not filing a reply in a petition before the court.

“If you have no understanding of the law then consult a legal expert,” the judge verbally said.

The matter was related to the delay in the issuance of the caste certificate to Cheek Badaik. Vinod Badaik had filed the petition. During the last hearing, the court had directed to file a reply in the matter.

The high court directed him to file a reply before deferring the hearing in the matter for seven days. Apart from this the court also directed him to remain physically present at the time of the next hearing.

IAS Srinivasan is presently Secretary of the Scheduled Tribes, Schedule Castes, Minorities and Backward Classes Department, with additional charges of Secretary, Transport Department and Labour Commissioner.
