Ranchi, July 6: The Jharkhand High Court sought reports on custodial death from all the district judges of the state.
A division bench headed by Justice Ananda Sen passed the order after entertaining a PIL filed by Dhanbad resident Mumtaz Ansari on the matter.
The court has asked all the district judges regarding the number of applications pending with them for conducting judicial inquiry in custodial death cases.
The high court seeking report from district judges deferred hearing in the matter till July 26.
Advocate Shadab Ansari represented Mumtaz Ansari in the court during the hearing of PIL.
