Ranchi, Aug 30: The Jharkhand High Court on Tuesday took suo moto cognizance of the Ankita Singh murder case.
A division bench comprising Chief Justice Dr. Ravi Ranjan and Justice SN Prasad had summoned the DGP while hearing the matter. DGP Neeraj Sinha appeared before the court at around 12:00 and made the court aware of the actions taken in the matter so far.
The court directed the state police chief to provide security to the victim’s family. A detail order in the matter from the court is expected by evening.
The development took place when the death case hogged the limelight and people raised demand of harsh punishment to the youth responsible for burning the minor girl to death.
