SUBHASH MISHRA

Dhanbad, Sept 21: The Health department requires  MBBS doctors at Rs 350 per hour honorarium basis for Dhanbad urban area-based Atal Clinics.

National Health Mission (NHM) managing director Umashankar Singh has in this regard invited applications from interested MBBS doctors for walk-in- interviews at Dhanbad civil surgeon (CS) office on September 27.

As per the vacancy notification for 12 posts, the Medical Council of India (MCI)  recognized MBBS doctors,  having a maximum age of 67 years, can appear for walk-in-interview. The doctor would be paid an honorarium of Rs 700 for two hours in the morning (8 am to 10 am) and evening  duty (6 pm to 8 pm).

“On the basis of fitness  test certificates issued by civil surgeons, doctors can be allowed to provide services up to the age of 70 years at Atal Clinics. However the appointed doctor would have to submit a fitness certificate every year,” said the vacancy notification.

The vacancy notification has also made it clear that claims of contractual doctors would not be considered for regularization of their service in near future.

Indian Medical Association (IMA)  Dhanbad chapter has raised objections over honorarium payment.  IMA  president Major Chandan said the government has offered an honorarium of Rs 350 per hour only. Even a daily wage labour draws more than this. “Doctors would be interested in this service if honourable honorarium is fixed. IMA  requests the government to at least fix honorarium on a per patient  basis,” said Major Chandan.

National Health Mission has issued vacancy of doctors posts for two hours in the morning as well as evening would be posted at Community Hall Bhuli (ward no. 15), Upgraded School Sindri Basti (ward no. 54), Circle Office Jharia (ward no. 44), Community Hall Katras (ward no. 02), Vikas Kendra Ambedkar Nagar (ward no. 10), Community Hall Power House Loyabad station (ward no.08), Community Hall Dompara (ward no. 25), Community Hall Chandmari Victory (ward no. 34), Community Hall  Chouthaikuli (ward no. 45), Community Hall Pathardih (ward no. 51), Community Hall Riverside Suryamandir (ward no. 52) and Community Hall Lakarka (ward no. 05).
