Ranchi, May 5: Jharkhand’s social welfare director Chhavi Ranjan was examined medically at Sadar Hospital as a protocol before his production before the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) special court in the Jharkhand capital.
Sadar Hospital insider said the IAS, who is under scanner for his acts and omissions while working in the capacity of Ranchi deputy commissioner, has a normal sugar level, blood pressure and pulse rate. Apart from this, the insider said, he also tested negative after the Covid-19 test.
It is expected the ED will pray for the remand of the 2011 batch IAS officer after producing him before the court.
Ranjan was arrested last night at 9.55 pm after a long question hour started at 9.40 am. ED officials took action after they concluded that the IAS officer masterminded a land scam in Ranchi using his official position and influence.
