Ranchi, Jan 10: Jharkhand’s Drinking Water and Sanitation Minister Mithilesh Kumar Thakur tested corona positive on Monday. He himself has informed about this. Earlier, in the Hemant Soren government, Health Minister Banna Gupta had tested corona positive. He is currently home isolated in Jamshedpur.
On Sunday, 3,444 new cases have been found in the state, which is 1720 less than Saturday. However, six people infected with corona also died. The dead include four from East Singhbhum, one each from Godda and Koderma. At the same time, the number of active cases in the state has reached 23,328. On Sunday, 1,143 corona infected were found in Ranchi. 542 infected have been found in East Singhbhum, 199 in Dhanbad and 186 in Bokaro.
Notably, 31 employees including gardener, canteen and clerk working in the Chief Minister’s residence have been found corona positive. On Saturday, 15 people were found infected in the Chief Minister’s residence. These include the Chief Minister’s wife and their two children. Samples of 62 employees were collected for test. In the report on Sunday, 16 more of these were found infected. In view of the situation of infection, the entry of visitors to the Chief Minister’s residence has been banned till further orders.
