Ranchi, July 2: Election results for the three tiers of Panchayats are now available. Despite the fact that elections were not conducted on a party basis, the majority of the elected officials undoubtedly have ties to parties.
As a result, each party is laying claim to the victorious candidate. 534 candidates ran for office in this election, and after winning, they established the village government. Following the victory, there was a commotion between the political parties in Jharkhand once more.
Deepak Prakash, the state president of the BJP, asserted that the success of many of his party’s supporters in the village election was due to the rising popularity of his organisation. He asserted that the number of seats won by BJP candidates in the Scheduled Area Tribal region was the highest.
In contrast, Rajesh Thakur, the state president of the Congress, asserted that the majority of the candidates backed by his party won the rural body elections. He refuted the BJP’s assertion that it is spreading misleading propaganda.
In contrast to the BJP and Congress, Minister Mithilesh Thakur of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha asserted that his party supported the majority of the candidates who won rural body elections. He claimed that the BJP is on the verge of becoming bankrupt politically.
An activist from East Singhbhum supported Prakash’s claim saying the BJP and the Asju supported candidates performed well in Zila Parishad elections while the JMM supported candidates performed well in Mukhiya elections.
An activist at Saraikela-Kharsawan said leaders were selected strategically keeping the benefit of the village in mind. For example, he said in Saraikela and Kharsawan though the BJP and the Ajsu were in majority but due to influence of Champai Soren, a JMM supported candidate became Zila Parishad chairman.
An activist taking care of Dhanbad, Bokaro, Giridih, Ranchi, Ramgarh and Jamshedpur said in these places the BJP and the Ajsu supported candidates became president and vice president.
A political analyst in Mandar said it is difficult to draw any conclusion as in lower level personal influence of candidates and strategy keeping assembly election in mind plays a major role.
“In Mandar, the BJP-supported candidates won in maximum number but when the by-poll result was declared the Congress candidate emerged victorious while the BJP stood second,” the analyst said.
