Ranchi, May 14: In protest against the five Naxalites killed in Chatra, the CPI Maoist organization has announced a North India shutdown/bandh on May 15. The bandh of Naxalites will start on Sunday at midnight.

In view of the shutdown of Naxalites, an alert has been issued in the whole of Jharkhand. In this regard, the Jharkhand Police Headquarters has instructed to take special vigilance in Naxal-affected districts. Special vigil is being maintained in Lohardaga, Chatra, Latehar, Chaibasa, Khunti, Palamu and Garhwa. All the jawans have been instructed by the SP of these districts to be vigilant and intensify patrolling in the most sensitive areas.

The intelligence department has received information that a conspiracy has been hatched by the Maoists to attack the police forces during the bandh. The SP of the Special Intelligence Bureau (SIB) of the Special Branch of the State Police has instructed the SPs of all the districts of the state to exercise special vigilance in the whole matter.

Significantly, Sanket, spokesperson of the Eastern Regional Bureau of CPI-Maoists, has issued a press release and announced the North India Bandh on May 15. A letter has also been issued by the CPI Maoists regarding the bandh. It has been said in the letter that five comrades were murdered in the Chatra forest of Jharkhand by feeding them intoxicants. And in Chhattisgarh, comrades are being killed by drone bombings. In protest against this, a bandh has been announced in the entire North India on 15th May. Maoists have appealed to all people to support the bandh.
