Ranchi, Nov.8: A section of revenue sub-inspectors today staged a demonstration against the president of Jharkhand Rajya Rajaswa Up Nirikshak Sangh, Amar Kumar Sinha, at a circle office in Ranchi.
The development took place after it came to knowledge that Sinha called off the strike on Monday without taking them in confidence and without fulfilment of demand.
A revenue sub-inspector preparing to burn effigy Sinha while talking to Lagatar24.com said the way Sinha called off the strike was wrong and there is resentment about it.
“We will continue our strike as neither our demand has been fulfilled nor any positive assurance was given by the government. We have removed Sinha from his post and elected Mahavir Prasad as the new president,” the sub-inspector said.
Neither Sinha nor revenue secretary K.K.Soan could not be contacted for his comment. An official of the registry office in Jharkhand capital said a real picture taking of the strike will appear tomorrow.
“Today is a holiday and thus it is difficult to know the real position of the strike. Yesterday we came to know that the strike was called off. We will have to wait till tomorrow to know what actually has happened,” the official said.
Meanwhile, a letter by the district president of the Chatra unit of Jharkhand Rajya Rajaswa Up Nirikshak Sangh, Sarvesh Kumar Singh to the state executive committee issued confirmed the situation.
Strike of the revenue sub-inspectors has been going on for the last 54 days for an 11-point charter of demands. The demands include increasing grade pay to Rs 2400 in accordance with the agreement taken place with the state government on October 10, 2019, recruitment of revenue circle inspector through promotion and limited competitive examination instead of a direct appointment, implementation of the revenue protection act, reconstitution of Halka unit, provision of two-wheelers and fuel, safety, immediate fulfilment of vacant posts of revenue sub-inspectors, old pension scheme and laptop computer and net cost besides others.
An attempt was made to sort out the issue last Friday but it could not materialise as government officials did not show their commitment to constitute a committee taking the officials of revenue, finance and personnel department to find a way to fulfil the justified demand.
