Ranchi: Weather conditions across Jharkhand continue to fluctuate, with daytime temperatures remaining moderate while nighttime temperatures have dipped, bringing a noticeable chill to several regions, including the state capital.
Cold Nights, Stable Day Temperatures
According to the Meteorological Department, maximum temperatures across Jharkhand are currently ranging between 21°C and 30°C, while minimum temperatures have slipped to between 3.9°C and 10.6°C. Despite the drop in night temperatures, the department has ruled out the possibility of a cold wave until January 29. Over the next three days, minimum temperatures are expected to rise by 3 to 4 degrees Celsius.
Ranchi and Surrounding Areas Forecast
In and around Ranchi, the weather is expected to remain largely stable. On January 24, the maximum temperature is likely to be 27°C with a minimum of 12°C. Similar conditions are forecast for January 25 and 26. By January 28, the maximum temperature may slightly dip to 26°C, while the minimum could hover around 11°C.
Kanke Records Lowest Temperature at 3.9°C
The India Meteorological Department reported that Chaibasa recorded the highest maximum temperature in the state at 30.0°C on Friday. In contrast, the lowest minimum temperature was recorded in Kanke, Ranchi district, at a chilly 3.9°C. Ranchi city itself recorded a minimum temperature of 7.6°C.
City-Wise Temperature Overview
Several districts experienced cool nights, with Lohardaga recording a minimum of 4.9°C, Khunti at 5.2°C, and Daltonganj at 6.5°C. Meanwhile, cities like Jamshedpur and Pakur saw comparatively warmer nights, with minimum temperatures above 10°C.
