Ranchi: Taking a major step towards achieving zero carbon emissions, the Government of Jharkhand has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Savanti Initiative. The objective of the agreement is to support the state’s transition to clean and safe energy while aligning with its net-zero carbon goals.

Energy Transition Readiness Index Framework

Under this MoU, an Energy Transition Readiness Index Framework will be developed specifically for Jharkhand. This framework will help the state advance in clean energy efforts and will ensure the participation of all state departments in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

A landmark opportunity for the state

Jharkhand will become the first state in India—and the first in Asia—to create such a framework. This initiative marks a major opportunity for the state to lead in the clean energy sector and to position itself as a model for other regions.
