Deoghar, Feb 13: A six-member special forensic and CID team arrived at Deoghar today and visited the spot where two policemen were shot dead in a so-called ambush late Saturday night.

The team members, including a photographer, were seen collecting the evidence from the spot on Machhali Patti Shayam Ganj road under the town police area.

The team remained there for four hours. They first visited the house of accused Pappu Singh, the PO, where policemen were gunned down and then went to Sudhakar’s house where police protection was deployed three months ago by the district administration as his accountant was attacked by criminals.

The team members also measured the dimension of the PO. They found the shootout marks on the wall in Pappu’s house. The marks were highlighted with a circle.

Blood stains were also found and samples of blood stains were collected. After searching and collecting the evidence from Pappu Singh’s house, the team went to his neighbour Sudhakar Jha’s house and found bottles of wine and plates with rice and meat.

According to sources,  two youths including a women member from the Pappu Singh family have been detained by the police for interrogation.

Notably apart from the fish trade, Sudhakar Jha has been involved in land brokerage. The Father of the deceased policeman had already questioned over granting police protection to a person like Sudhakar  Jha.

A delegation of the police association may visit Deoghar on February 14 as the association learnt might have smelled a different story behind the tragic death of their colleagues.
