Ranchi, Oct 20: The Jharkhand government is set to award scholarships under the Vidyadhan Scholarship to students that have scored 75 percent or 7.5 CGPA marks in the 10th boards of 2022, and their annual family income is less than Rs two lakh per annum.
Notably, the Vidyadhan scholarship will be given by the Sarojini Damodaran Foundation. The foundation which was started by Kumari Shibulal (patron) and SD Shibulal, co-founder of Infosys; has already invited applications for the scholarship programme. Since its inception in 1999, the scholarship has been given to 26,700 students. At present 5090 students are benefitting from the scholarship.
Under this, Rs 10,000 will be given per year to the selected students for education in intermediate. The process of applying for this has begun. The last date for applying for the same is October 30.
The eligibility for the scholarship has already been set. Under this, students whose annual family income is less than Rs 2 lakh can apply if they have passed their matriculation examination in the year 2022 from Jharkhand state with 75 percent or 7.5 CGPA (60 percent or 6 CGPA for disabled students). Selected students will get Rs 10,000 per year for intermediate studies. If they continue to perform well, they will be given between Rs 15,000 to Rs 60,000 per year to pursue a degree course.
Eligible students can apply online by logging into www.vidyadhan.org or SDF Vidya App (SDF Vidya App is available on Google Play Store) by October 30, 2022. It is worth noting here that students will not be charged for filling out the application for the scholarship.
