Dhanbad, Feb 18: Tata Steel Jharia Division organised a multi-speciality health camp in the Sijua area in which 373 patients, including 183 females, were treated and given medical advice after a diagnostic check-up.
JMM MLA from Tundi Mathura Prasad Mahto was the chief guest on the occasion and inaugurated the day-long camp. The head of Sijua Colliery Group of Tata Steel Sanjeev Kumar Thakur also graced the occasion as a guest of honour.
A team of specialist doctors of medicine, gynaecology, homoeopathy, paediatrics, dental and pathology from Tata Central Hospital, nurses and volunteers conducted the check-up of the villagers and gave medical advice. The patients were also provided free medicines related to their ailments.
The official of Tata Steel Jharia Division said that at the camp blood sugar, blood pressure check-ups and haemoglobin tests were also conducted to create awareness of diabetes and hypertension which have appeared as major issues in the area.
Piyush Kumar, senior manager of HRBP, Sijua Group, and Sujit Kumar Jha, senior manager of security were also present at the inauguration of the health camp.
The specialist doctors who attended to the patients and gave consultation at the health camp were Dr Santosh Prasad (paediatrics),. Dr Raj Kumar Raj, Dr Neelam Tirkey, Dr Alok Pandey, Dr PN Singh and Dr Bibekananda Patra.
