Ranchi, July 4: A senior forest officer retired last month and everyone within his department and the industrial sector and corporate houses in Jharkhand heaved a sigh of relief. He held many important posts in the department as well as in different departments of the Jharkhand government. He is said to have had created chaos, confusion and negativity whichever department he held. However, he never lost sight of the ultimate interest which he had in his mind. And he succeeded in achieving the ultimate material gains.

Some examples of the (mis) deeds of this gentleman is known to most people though no one wants to name him because he has always held important posts, mostly dual charges. The recent controversy about the forest land in Chas (Bokaro) is the outcome of his one of the (mis) deeds during his tenure in one of the districts of that region.

One big industry in Ranchi district, where an accident took place and had to temporarily stop production, suffered great losses in 2019 because his demands to allow reopening the said industry were not met. At that time, he was holding additional charge with one board whose clearance was needed for reopening the industry. He was said to be very close to a top functionary of the Chief Minister’s office (CMO) during the Raghubar Das regime.

The gentleman, in question, is suave, street smart, sweet talker and he managed to gain confidence of his departmental secretaries and thus ran the show taking advantage of the technical ignorance of his IAS bosses. Now, the grapevine is that post retirement, he is trying hard to become head of an important board and he is ready to go to any extent to meet the demands of his political bosses. So it seems, the sigh of relief may not last for very long.
