Ramgarh, Nov 23: Jindal Steel & Power (JSP), a company led by industrialist Naveen Jindal, has won five gold in Quality Control Circle 22 (ICQCC) held in Indonesia. According to a press release issued in Ramgarh on Wednesday, 757 organizations from 14 countries participated in the international conference held in Jakarta from November 15 to 18 and displayed their best quality skills.
Notably, the International Conference of Quality Control Circles (ICQCC) is the world’s highest platform for the recognition of quality concepts and related topics, in which JSP’s Kaizen (Change for Better) teams set a milestone by winning five gold medals.
Out of these, four teams are from Angul Steel Plant and one team is from Tensa Iron Ore Mines. Their names are – Panther, Shakti, Kaushal, Dynamic and Sparta. A total of 14 engineers belonging to these teams won the top five awards of the conference in Jakarta, showcasing their outstanding skills in their respective fields.
Japan’s well-known method Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) is an integral part of the work practice at all JSP plants, which is being followed continuously by all the employees in order to drive the process of continuous quality improvement.
This conference puts its stamp on the best compliance of this method. Bhuvan Pratap of JSP has become a member of the jury, and JSP has achieved another achievement.
Pratap, AVP & Head of TPM – TQM – Energy Management in the company has been recognised to be on the Jury of the International Conference of Quality Control Circles (ICQCC). He participated in the ICQCC across the world except for JSP group companies.
He participated as a jury member in the evaluation of the case studies presented by the industries. Notably, JSP is a leading steel, mining and infrastructure company with an investment of US$ 12 billion worldwide.
