Jindal Steel & Power wins prestigious Golden Peacock CSR Award

Ramgarh, Jan 14: Jindal Steel & Power (JSP), the country’s leading steel company headed by eminent industrialist Naveen Jindal has been awarded the prestigious Golden Peacock Award 2022 for its excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities in the Steel Sector.

During the 17th International Conference on CSR held in Mumbai, JSP’s President and Group Head (CSR) Prashant Kumar Hota received the honour from Union Minister of State Law & Justice Prof. S.P. Singh Baghel on January 12.

Institute of Directors (IOD)’s President Lt Gen (Retd.) Surinder Nath and Principal Advisor Desh Deepak Verma, IAS (Retd) were present on the occasion. This is the second Golden Peacock CSR Award received by JSP for its dedicated services in the field of CSR.

Jindal Steel & Power, led by Shallu Jindal, has been conferred with this prestigious award for its holistic Corporate Social Responsibilities activities, undertaken by JSP Foundation, for improving the quality of life of the community around its operational areas.

JSP was selected by the Award Jury headed by Former Chief Justice of India M.N. Venkatachaliah. Thanking the Jury and the Institute of Directors, Shallu Jindal, Chairperson, JSP said, “This prestigious award has made us more responsible and more accountable to serve the people and for the sustainable improvement in the of life of the socio-economically weaker and underprivileged sections across the country.”

“We are working in line with 16 out of 17 criteria of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs) and are expediting our programmes across sectors to improve the Human Development Index (HDI) in India,” he added.

Moreover, JSP Foundation has partnerships with the local community and Government to impact the lives of over 10 million people with various social development initiatives.
