Jammu, June 5: A fire on the Satwari police station grounds early Sunday burned at least seven impounded cars and over a dozen two-wheelers, said officials.

An overhead power wire snapped, causing a fire in an open area housing the seized automobiles around 1.50 a.m., they said.

Officials claimed four fire engines were sent to the scene, bringing the inferno under control and saving the police station structure.

“At least seven seized cars and over a dozen two-wheelers were completely destroyed in the fire,” said an official of the fire and emergency department.
