Ranchi, Jan.11: JMM general secretary and spokesperson Supriyo Bhattacharya raised question on the competence of national investigation agency CBI saying two states of the country, Punjab and Maharastra, have submitted before the Supreme Court that they have no faith in apex investigating agency.
The statement came to the fore when Bhattacharya was addressing a press conference to counter former chief minister Raghubar Das who during a press conference termed JMM government ‘weak and incompetent.’
During the conference, a journalist asked him why the matter of mob lynching at Simdega is not being given to CBI for probe as the widow of victim Sanju Pradhan also raised the demand with the governor in the interest of fair investigation.
“How competent is CBI,” Bhattacharya replied before mentioning the perception of Punjab and Maharastra in the Supreme Court and tardy development in the investigation being done by CBI in judge Uttam Anand death case.
Bhattacharya, before asking the journalist to have full faith in state police, went on saying that “those who want to see how CBI, ED and IT are working should go to five states where election is scheduled.”
Earlier, Bhattacharya pointed out all the misdeeds during the tenure of Das government in state saying in 2019 people has given their mandate and the JMM government in the state does not require to give any clarification regarding its performance despite hurdle of corona pandemic.
He said proper investigation will be done in mob lynching case and those responsible for the crime will be given proper punishment.
