Daltonganj, Jan 11:Traffic on NH 98 has been partially restored. All four wheelers are plying now, said SDPO Surjit Kumar.

Lorries, trucks,  containers etc have been disallowed by the protesters to ferry on NH 98 close to the Nawa Bazar police station.

NH 98 was jammed by the irate public following the suicide of a sub inspector of police Lalji Yadav whose hanging body was found in the room in the premise of the Nawa Bazar police station earlier today.

Family members of Lalji Yadav are yet to reach from Sahebganj. They are expected by 7.30 this evening.

SDPO Surjit Kumar said that NH 98 is expected to be open to all modes of vehicles once the family reaches and takes possession of the body.

Locals are demanding a high-level inquiry into suicide of Yadav who was suspended by SP Palamu Chandan Kumar Sinha on January 5.

Yadav had to face an unprecedented situation at Budhmu police station in Ranchi district where when he wanted to hand over the charge of the Maal Khana at this police station, he found many valuable things missing which caused enormous tension for him.

No suicidal note was found, said additional SP K Vijay Shankar. Police will scan his incoming and outgoing calls besides SMS sent or received or WhatsApp messages sent or received as well.

SP Palamu said Yadav had shared his worries with few of his colleagues about the shock and trauma that he encountered at Budhmu police station.

He had returned to Nawa Bazar in the evening of Monday, January 10 and committed suicide on January 11.
