Ranchi, June 24: Dilemma continues in Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) over extending support to NDA presidential nominee Droupadi Murmu in the forthcoming presidential election.
The party, which is a factor of UPA, has so far failed to decide whether it should express its solidarity with UPA by supporting its Yashwant Sinha or with Murmu, who is almost set to become first tribal president of the country.
Senior party legislator Mathura Prasad Mahato confirmed the situation saying a decision will be taken in this matter after the chief minister returns from New Delhi after meeting union home minister Amit Shah.
Another party legislator and state minister Mithilesh Kumar Thakur and Nalin Soren echoed Mahato.
“There will be one or two more meetings. Only then will the final decision be taken,” Thakur said.
Party general secretary and central spokesperson Supriyo Bhattacharya said, “All the circumstances were considered in the meeting. The political situation in the state was also discussed in the meeting. Maharashtra development was also discussed. Decisions will be taken in the interest of the state as well as in the interest of the country.”
