Jamshedpur, June 11: Jharkhand State Students Union (JSSU) activists continued their agitation over the state’s employment policy on the second day today in the Seraikela-Kharsawan district.

While continuing the agitation, the JSSU protestors set up a blockade on the Tata-Kandra four-lane near Kerala Public School disrupting the vehicular communication on the road for more than two hours.

As the Tata-Kandra road is the only connecting road between Jamshedpur and Seraikela, a large number of vehicles had to remain stranded under the scorching sun, causing the commuters to suffer immensely.

As the protestors continued to block the vehicular movement, police parties from Gamharia and Adityapur police stations reached the spot and made the agitators to disperse from the blockade spot.

The JSSU activists are protesting the 60-40 ratio of Jharkhand’s employment policy, claiming that the policy is an injustice for the local youths.

The protestors are demanding the 60-40 ratio of the present employment policy be scrapped and instead an employment policy based on ‘Khatiyan’ dating back to 1932 be implemented. They maintained that until the demand is not met the JSSU would continue the agitation.
