New Delhi, March 11: Karnataka Congress working president R Dhruvanarayan passed away on Saturday after suffering a cardiac arrest at his residence in Mysuru.

“He suffered chest pain and his driver picked him up at 6:40 am. But he didn’t survive,” said Dr Manjunath, DRMS Hospital.

“Dhruva Narayan, a senior leader of the state Congress, former MP and KPCC working president, passed away due to a heart attack, which is an irreparable loss to the Congress party. May the soul of the deceased rest in peace. May his family find strength to bear this grief,” Karnataka’s Congress tweeted.

Meanwhile, former Karnataka chief minister and Congress leader Siddaramaiah expressed grief on the demise of party leader. Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge also condoles the demise of Karnataka Congress working president.

“Deeply anguished and pained by the passing away of R Dhruvanarayana. He was not just a grassroots political, but the finest human being. His demise is not just the loss for Congress, but a huge personal loss for me as well. My thoughts are with his family and followers,” Kharge said in a tweet.
