Thiruvananthapuram, June 8: Early this morning, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and his group departed on an eight-day trip to Cuba and the United States.
The Regional Conference of the Loka Kerala Sabha will be inaugurated by Pinarayi Vijayan on June 10 at the Marriott Marquis in Time Square, New York.
The event will be presided over by Speaker AN Shamseer, who will also be joined by Chief Secretary V P Joy, Finance Minister KN Balagopal, notable Loka Kerala Sabha members, and other officials.
The 9/11 Memorial in New York will be visited by the Chief Minister on June 9th. In addition, he’ll go to the UN headquarters.
The Business Investment Meet, which will take place on June 11, will be inaugurated by the CM. He will have meetings with significant expatriate Malayalis, students, women business owners, IT experts and Malyali investors from the United States. At a public meeting that evening in Times Square, the Chief Minister will address the expatriate community.
The Chief Minister will meet Martin Raiser, vice president of the World Bank’s South Asia region, in Washington, DC, on June 12. The Chief Minister will tour Maryland’s waste management facilities on June 13 in person to learn more. He is going to travel to Havana on June 14.
The Chief Minister will take part in a number of events on June 15 and 16 in Havana. He’ll meet with a number of dignitaries. Additionally, the Chief Minister will pay visits to significant historical sites, such as the Jose Marti Memorial.
In the meantime, Kerala’s opposition parties abstain from the Loka Kerala Sabha regional meeting. The organisers of the Loka Kerala Sabha are under fire from the opposition for allegedly collecting funds so that the chief minister may appear on stage with them in New York.
