Kharagpur-Tatanagar MEMU train to resume service from May 9

Jamshedpur, May 5: South Eastern Railway has decided to restore the Kharagpur-Tatanagar MEMU train services with effect from May 9.

According to a circular issued by Garden Reach, headquarters of South Eastern Railway, the 08055 Kharagpur-Tatangar MEMU Special will leave Kharagpur daily at 5.35 am and will reach Tatanagar at 8.20 am.

In the return direction, 08056 Tatanagar-Kharagpur MEMU Special will depart Tatanagar daily at 2.20 pm and will reach Kharagpur at 5.45 pm.

Another MEMU train 08653/08654 Adra-Asansol- Passenger Special will also resume its journey from May 9 after about two years.

The 08653 Adra-Asansol MEMU Special will leave Adra daily at 3.20 am and will reach Asansol at 4.30 am.

In the return direction, 08654 Asansol-Adra MEMU Special will depart Asansol daily at 4.40 am and will reach Adra at 5.50 am.

Railway officials said the resumption of the two MEMU trains would prove beneficial for daily commuters.

The Chhotanagpur Passenger Association welcomed the railway’s decision to restore the two MEMU trains.
