Ranchi, Oct 19: A grassroot training seminar was held at Silli Polytechnic on Wednesday under the Khelo Silli Campaign. The campaign aims in connecting 403 different villages with multiple sports. The aim is to make Silli area superior in both sports and education via this campaign.
AJSU President and Silli MLA Sudesh Mahto while addressing the crowd said that every youth in Silli will become an athlete and everyone should work together in keeping athletes away from any kind of distractions. He added that the international players and local sports authorities will need to work together in ensuring a bright future for the 20,000 youth in the region.
Under this campaign, the athletes of the Under14 and Under17 categories will be given training in wushu, Archery, football, athletics, volleyball, kabaddi and Kho-Kho in the villages themselves.
The campaign will begin in November and necessary sports equipment will be provided to all the panchayats. The admission forms for Khelo Silli campaign were also distributed among the youths of different villages of Silli.
