Koderma, Sept.18: A gang of eight thieves who was involved in regular bike thefts has been busted by the police today. All members including the mastermind of the gang have been arrested. Total 13 bikes have been recovered from them, 11 of which are in proper condition and 2 were dismantled into separate parts to be sold illegally.

According to the officials, 10 bike theft reports were registered in various police stations of Koderma district in the last few months. Looking at similar cases, a special team was formed, led by SDPO Ashok Kumar, for catching the thieves.

Talking to the media at Tilaiya police station, SP Kumar Gaurav said that all the members of the gang have been caught and the vehicles which were seized from them belong to people of different police station areas in Koderma. Some of the members used to steal the motorcycles while some had their own garage where they used to sell the parts of all stolen bikes. Apart from this, some members were involved in selling the stolen bikes in different areas.

The police now believe that bike thefts in the area will be reined in after the bust of this gang. They have also requested the general public to stay alert at all times for the prevention of such cases.
