Dhanbad, March 3:  Hundreds of landowners of different areas of Baghmara block held a half-naked demonstration at Randhir Verma Chowk against land capturing by BJP Baghmara MLA Dhulu Mahto and urged Chief Minister Hemant Soren for protection from him.
The landowners of  Ladidumar, Darida, Muraidih and other areas of Baghmara block covering around 30 km reached the coal city half-naked by beating traditional music drums and demonstrated at Randhir Verma.

Dhulu Mahto represents the Baghmara assembly constituency.
One of the landowners  Balram Mahto of Darida said that Baghmara MLA Dhulu Mahto, displaying muscle power, has captured the land of villagers and  constructed public road on the government land.  He charged that whenever any landowner opposes him, the MLA traps him in false cases.
“The district administration does not take action against Dhulu Mahto. So we have come to  Dhanbad to draw the attention of chief minister Hemant Soren for bailing out the villagers from Dhulu Mahto. If he ( chief minister) does not act, villagers would have no option but to set themselves on fire,” said Balram Mahto, who was leading the agitation.
The demonstrators alleged that the BJP MLA has captured around 100 acres of land of tribal, Muslim, non-tribal and government in the block. The demonstrators later on handed over a memorandum to deputy commissioner Sandip Singh for a proper probe of the land captured by Dhulu Mahto.
Dhulu Mahto could not be contacted as he is out of the district.
