Daltonganj, Aug 30: The tribal agitation in Mahuadanr under the Latehar district has escalated. The agitators are now holding night-long squatting down at the main entrance of government offices. They have also brought on a sound system and a makeshift open-to-sky kitchen prepares food for them.
Rajesh Kujur, the sub-divisional police officer of Mahuadanr said that the agitators are now keeping a night-long vigil with their food facilities around.

“We along with the civil officers are trying hard to convince the agitating Chechari Pargana activists to refrain from indulging in such activities which are not in their own interest and it is also against the law of the land,” the SDPO said.
The agitation has gained momentum following the local administration’s removal of the two installed notice boards proclaiming the 5th schedule under the aegis of the Chechari Pargana Mahuadanr.

The administration has valid points to remove such notice boards from the full public view with it as it declares to prohibit outsiders not attuned to the 5th schedule to reside, trade, carry business and employment etc which the administration arguably deems to be a threat to the public tranquillity.
Following the removal of the notice boards, the Chechari Pargana activists are up in arms demanding its restoration at the same place from where it was removed by the administration.

Sources said there is a kind of impasse between the local Mahuadanr administration and the agitating tribal.
Mahuadanr is a typical block or subdivision in Latehar district which has a total tribal set up of officers like SDPO, SDO, BDO, CO and quite a few more officials who are tribals.
According to sources, an impression is being created here that this agitation would not have been as powerful as it has become in the last 24 hours had this bunch of tribal officers not held key government posts here.
However, this is far from reality as tribal officers holding key posts here are seriously opposed to this kind of ongoing stir.
Lagatar24.com correspondent spoke to one tribal officer Amren Deng, the BDO of Mahuadanr who said that this agitation is improper and uncalled for and it must come to an end.
