Jamshedpur, July 27: IMD’s Ranchi Met Centre issued a forecast of light rain at many places across Jharkhand today.
Weathermen said the monsoon trough was passing through Jamshedpur and that they were expecting widespread showers today.
The sector-wise warning also indicated thunder and lightning at isolated places over the state.
Rainfall statistics suggested that Jharkhand so far was facing a rain deficit of 50 per cent. Against a normal of 455 mm, the state has so far received 230 mm, a deficit of 50 per cent.
According to Met data, all the 24 districts were facing a rain deficit. Such deficit is being experienced by the state after a long time.
Satellite pictures suggested heavy cloud formation over several districts. Weathermen said heavy moisture incursion was also taking place into the atmosphere.
