Jamshedpur, Aug 29: IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre issued a forecast of light rain in isolated areas over Jharkhand today.
Weathermen said light rain is expected to be restricted in certain pockets, especially in northern Jharkhand.
Notably, monsoon has become weak over Jharkhand as the monsoon trough has shifted towards the north resulting in restricted rainfall activity over the state for the past few days.
No significant synoptic condition prevails over Jharkhand.
Today’s satellite pictures suggested that the monsoon trough at mean sea level continues to run along the foothills of the Himalayas.
Until and unless the monsoon trough gets restored, the state will be deprived of widespread rainfall activity.
Statistics of the last 24 hours suggested that very light rain was observed at one or two places over the state.
Monsoon was weak over the state. The highest rainfall recorded was 0.2 mm at Putki (in Dhanbad).
The highest maximum temperature of around 35°C was recorded at Godda while the lowest minimum temperature of 22°C was recorded at Ranchi.
