Patna: Police in Bihar have exposed a liquor smuggling racket in Bagaha where traffickers allegedly used a milk transport vehicle to hide and move illegal alcohol. Two accused have been arrested in the case.
Smuggling Plan Uncovered
According to police, smugglers modified a milk delivery vehicle to secretly transport liquor so that it would not attract suspicion during checks. The hidden consignment was discovered during routine inspection.
Checkpoint Seizure in Bagaha
The incident took place at the Rehuwa checkpost where police were conducting regular vehicle checks. A three-wheeler goods vehicle was stopped, and officers became suspicious during inspection.
When milk trays were removed, liquor cartons were found concealed underneath. Police recovered 35 cartons of English liquor from the vehicle.
Two Accused Arrested
The arrested men were identified as Vyas Prasad from Siwan and Amar Singh from Uttar Pradesh. During questioning, they allegedly admitted they were delivering liquor under the cover of milk supply.
Police Investigation Continues
Bagaha in-charge SP Nirmala Kumari said a case has been registered and interrogation is underway. Police are now conducting raids to trace others linked to the illegal network.
Officials added that increased vigilance is helping expose such smuggling attempts and more drives will continue in the future.
