Rain and Hail Alert to Bring Relief From Heatwave in Jharkhand

Ranchi: Jharkhand is expected to get relief from intense heat as the weather department has forecast rain, thunderstorms, strong winds, and possible hailstorms over the next five days. Yellow and Orange alerts have been issued for several districts.

Recent Heat Conditions
During the last 24 hours, Daltonganj was the hottest place in the state with a maximum temperature of 44.9°C. Ranchi recorded 40.2°C, while Jamshedpur reported 37.5°C. The lowest minimum temperature was 22°C in Namkum, Ranchi.

Weather Forecast for Coming Days
On April 27, parts of north-eastern and central Jharkhand including Ranchi, Bokaro, Gumla, Hazaribagh, Deoghar, and Dumka may witness hailstorms, thunder, and winds of 50–60 kmph.

From April 28 to 30, southern and central regions may experience thunderstorms, lightning, and winds of 40–50 kmph. Hailstorm chances may return in north-eastern areas on April 30.

Temperature Likely to Fall
The department said maximum temperatures may drop by 3 to 5 degrees Celsius over the next five days, bringing significant relief from scorching summer conditions.

Public Advisory Issued
People have been advised to stay alert during thunderstorms, avoid standing under trees, keep away from electrical equipment, and move to safe shelters during lightning activity. Farmers have also been asked to protect harvested crops.
