Lohardaga, Oct.18: A sleuth of the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested the block development officer (BDO) of Kisko block, Anil Kumar Minz while taking Rs 20000 as a bribe. Along with Minz, block coordinator Paramanand Kumar was also arrested for taking Rs 15000 as a bribe.
The development took place around 10 am when the ACB laid traps after a preliminary inquiry into the charges of corruption against the officials. So far, it is not clear for which work the transaction of the bribe amount took place.
The ACB team is expected to produce both government officials before the ACB Court after interrogation.
ACB becomes active in Jharkhand
Earlier on May 31, a 21-member sleuth of ABC had caught two lady government employees red-handed while accepting bribes. They were deputed at the office of the deputy collector (land and revenue) at Gumla. An amount of Rs 4100 in cash was recovered from their possession.
On May 26, an ACB sleuth unearthed approximately one crore cash from the official residence of a ranger of the forest department Vijay Kumar Singh at Manoharpur. With Singh, a computer operator Manish Poddar was also arrested. The action came after a probe started on the information of one Ganesh Pramik, who said the ranger demanded Rs 2500 as a bribe to carry an old Palang to Jamshedpur from Manoharpur.
.Prior to this on April 1, ACB had arrested a clerk of Rajendra Institute of Medical Science (RIMS) Kundan Kumar red-handed accepting Rs 5000 as a bribe.
On March 29, an ACB sleuth arrested a clerk from the office of the senior superintendent of police in Jharkhand capital, Deepak Kumar, accepting the same amount as a bribe for clearing paper related to a pension of travelling allowance of an assistant sub-inspector Shailesh Kumar Pandey, whose retirement is due on March 31.
