Daltonganj, Jan 4: The magistrate on Covid duty today at the Chhoumuhan in Daltonganj found 28 people in the streets who had no masks on their faces. A total fine of Rs.14,000 was recovered from the defaulters.

Confirming this the sadar SDO Rajesh Kumar Sah said, “We have deputed one magistrate each at the four busiest points of the town namely Redma, Bairya More, Chhoumuhan and Sadik Manzil to enforce and ensure covid appropriate behaviour. The magistrates are accompanied by a posse of police force.”

The SDO said that pedestrians and bikers are extremely unconcerned about the resurfacing of covid and hence, civil and police administration is trying hard to enforce the covid protocol in the town.

SP Palamu Chandan Kumar Sinha said that in the coming days, there will be more strictness for mask-wearing and social distancing.

Before January 15, Palamu sees huge ‘melas’ on the occasion of festival Makar Sankranti which will be tough for the administration to contain and reduce in size.
